RULES 2021 PRIX IDÉLLO (THE CONTEST)

1. Applicable Rules
1.1 Subject to applicable laws, these rules govern all aspects of the Contest.

2. When is the Contest?
2.1 The Contest runs from March 25th, 2021 to May 30th, 2021 (the “Contest Period”).
2.2 Nominations may be submitted until 11:59 p.m. Eastern standard time on May 30th, 2021 (the “Deadline”).

3. Who can be nominated?
3.1 The Contest is open to people in the following categories (the “Candidates”):
a) FL1 Teacher – Ontario
b) FL1 Teacher – Canada (outside Ontario)
c) French Immersion Teacher – Canada (Ontario included)
d) Early Childhood Educator – Ontario
3.2 All Candidates must be certified by the professional order (regulatory body) of their province or territory.
3.3 A Candidate’s nomination must relate to his/her classroom teaching strategies, initiatives and experiences during the 2020-2021 school year.
3.4 Candidates in their first year of retirement or on leave of absence are eligible, as long as they have worked full-time in an eligible school during the 2019-2020 school year.

4. Who can nominate a Candidate?
4.1 Anyone who knows a Candidate may nominate them. A single person may nominate more than one Candidate but cannot nominate the same Candidate twice.
4.2 A Candidate may not nominate him/herself.
4.3 Only Canadian residents who are 18 years of age or older at the start of the Contest Period may submit a nomination.
4.4 Family members of a Candidate, employees and affiliates of Groupe Média TFO and their family members are not eligible to nominate a Candidate.

5. How to nominate a Candidate?
5.1 A person who is eligible to nominate a Candidate can do so by submitting a completed nomination form before the Deadline (the “Nomination Form”). A person may only nominate one Candidate per Nomination Form, but can submit multiple Nomination Forms.
5.2 Nomination Forms with two Candidates (co-teaching) will not be accepted.

6. How are the winners selected?
6.1 One winner will be chosen for each category by different selection committees composed of Groupe Média TFO employees, and professionals from the education community. Each category will have a different selection committee (the “Winner”).
6.2 The winner in each category will be chosen based on the responses to the questions of the Nomination Forms received for each Candidate. In order to avoid conflicts of interest, Candidates’ names and schools will be removed from the Nomination Forms before they are evaluated by the selection committees.
6.3 The Winners for each category will be informed by TFO when the jury has designated the Winners by September 7th, 2021. Each Winner will be invited to an award ceremony where the prize will be awarded as outlined in clause 8.

7. What are the prizes?
7.1 One prize will be given per category (the “Prize(s)”). The Prizes consist of:
a) FL1 Teacher – Ontario: classroom equipment, selected by the Winner and approved by TFO (estimated value $1000.00 CAD) and a personal gift card (estimated value $150.00 CAD)
b) FL1 Teacher – Canada (outside Ontario): classroom equipment, selected by the Winner and approved by TFO (estimated value $1000.00 CAD) and a personal gift card (estimated value $150.00 CAD)
c) French Immersion Teacher – Canada (Ontario included): classroom equipment, selected by the Winner and approved by TFO (estimated value $1000.00 CAD) and a
personal gift card (estimated value $150.00 CAD)
d) Early Childhood Educator – Ontario: classroom equipment, selected by the Winner and approved by TFO (estimated value $1000.00 CAD), a personal gift card (estimated value $150.00 CAD), an iPad (estimated value $600.00 CAD, offered by AFÉSEO) and a oneyear membership to AFÉSEO (offered by AFÉSEO)
7.2 The person who submitted a winning entry will receive a personal gift card (estimated value $50.00) as well as a one-year membership to IDELLO.org. If multiple people submitted Nomination Forms for the same winner, a random draw will be organized among all these people to determine who will receive the IDÉLLO bag and one-year membership.
7.3 The Prize must be accepted as described and cannot be transferred or substituted. The Prize cannot be exchanged in whole or in part for cash. In case of unavailability of the Prize offered, TFO reserves the right to replace the Prize with another prize of the same nature, of equal or greater value.

8. When will the Prizes be awarded?
8.1 The Prizes for each category will be awarded by TFO at an award ceremony to be held at a different event for each category. The choice of the event will depend on availability and location. The award ceremonies will take place by March 31st, 2022. TFO reserves the right to change the date of the award ceremonies or the way the prizes will be awarded to respect COVID-19 government directives and safety protocols.
8.2 In the event that the award ceremonies cannot take place, particularly due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the winners will receive their Prize by mail, Groupe Média TFO is not responsible for any delay, damage or loss of a Prize, caused by the postal service used by Groupe Média TFO to send the Prize. The winners accept the conditions of use of the postal service used by Groupe Média TFO to send the Prizes.

9. What do the Winners have to do?
9.1 Each Winner must attend the award ceremony for their category. If the ceremony takes place in a location other than their own school, TFO will cover the costs of travel and accommodation.
9.2 Each Winner agrees to participate in the production of a short video about their profile, including the Winner’s students and classroom (the “Video”). The Video will be filmed in the Winner’s classroom depending on the availability of the Winner, of TFO’s production team and the measures and directives in force related to COVID-19.
9.3 Each Winner agrees to sign a release form and obtain the necessary parental release forms from his or her students in order to be filmed for the Video. The Video may be published on all platforms used by Groupe Média TFO platforms and their partners, including the web, social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter and TikTok (the “Social Media Platform”) and Groupe Média TFO’s linear channel as well as used for promotional purposes.
9.4 Groupe Média TFO has the right to modify the creative direction of the Video in order to respect COVID-19 safety practices and governmental regulations.

10. Confidentiality
10.1 Personal information collected for the Contest is collected in accordance with TFO’s Privacy and Privacy Policy and is used solely for the purposes of the Contest.

11. Intellectual Property
11.1 All intellectual property rights and all other property rights pertaining to the Video, and any other content created for the Contest, whether it be created by Groupe Média TFO or not, belong to Groupe Média TFO.

12. General terms
12.1 Groupe Média TFO reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to disqualify any entrant for any reason and at any time for having violated the Contest Rules or for having tampered with any aspect of the Contest.
12.2 By participating in the Contest, each person agrees to exonerate Groupe Média TFO, its employees or representatives, from any liability for personal injury, loss or damage of any nature whatsoever suffered by individuals (including personal injury or death) or caused to property, which could result, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation in the Contest, as well as any claim based on the right to protection of personality, defamation, invasion of privacy or delivery of goods.
12.3 Groupe Média TFO reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend, in whole or in part, the Contest in the event of an event or any human intervention that could corrupt or affect the administration, security, impartiality or conduct of the Contest, including COVID-19 government directives and safety protocols, as provided for in these Rules.

13. Limitation of Social Media Liability
13.1 The Social Media Platforms used by Groupe Média TFO for the promotion of the Contest, are not in any way responsible for the management of the Contest.
13.2 The Contest is not sponsored, supported or administered by Social Media Platforms and is not associated with it. Participants understand that they provide their information to Groupe Média TFO and not to the Social Media Platforms.
13.3 The Social Media Platforms are completely exempt from all liability by each Participant. All comments, questions, concerns or complaints related to the promotion should be directed to Groupe Média TFO and not to the Social Media Platforms.

14. Applicable law
14.1 These rules shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and Canada, whose courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
