RULES 2020 IDÉLLO PRIZE (THE CONTEST)

1. Mandatory settlement

1.1 Subject to applicable laws, these rules govern all aspects of the Contest.

 

2. When is the Contest?

2.1 The Contest runs from February 11th, 2020 to April 19th, 2020 (the “Contest Period”).

2.2 Nominations may be submitted until midnight on April 19th, 2020 (the “Deadline”).

 

3. Who can be nominated?

3.1 The Contest is open to people in the following categories (the “Candidates”):
a) FL1 Teacher – Ontario
b) FL1 Teacher – Canada (outside Ontario)
c) French as a second language Teacher – Canada (Ontario included). (French as a second language includes immersion, core and intensive French programs).
d) Early Childhood Educator – Ontario

3.2 All Candidates must be certified by the professional order (regulatory body) of their province or territory.

3.3 Candidates in their first year of retirement or on leave of absence are eligible, as long as they have worked full-time in an eligible school during the 2018-2019 school year.

3.4 A Candidate’s nomination must relate to his/her classroom teaching strategies and initiatives during the 2018-2019 or 2019-2020 school years.

 

4. Who can nominate a Candidate?

4.1 Anyone who knows a Candidate well may nominate them. A single person may nominate more than one Candidate.

4.2 A Candidate may not nominate him/herself.

4.3 Only Canadian residents who are 18 years of age or older at the start of the Contest Period may submit a nomination.

4.4 Family members of a Candidate, employees and affiliates of Groupe Média TFO and their family members are not eligible to nominate a Candidate.

 

5. How to nominate a Candidate?

5.1 A person may nominate a Candidate by submitting a completed Nomination Form before the Deadline. A person may only nominate one Candidate per Nomination Form, but can submit multiple Nomination Forms.

5.2 Nomination Forms with two Candidates (co-teaching) will not be accepted.

 

6. How are the winners selected?

6.1 One winner will be chosen for each category by different selection committees composed of Groupe Média TFO employees, and professionals from the education community. Each category will have a different selection committee.

6.2 The winner in each category will be chosen based on the responses to the questions of the Nomination Forms received for each Candidate.

6.3 In order to avoid conflicts of interest, Candidates’ names and schools will be removed from the Nomination Forms before they are evaluated by the selection committees.

 

7. What are the prizes?

7.1 One prize will be given per category (the “Prize(s)”). The Prizes consist of:
a) FL1 Teacher – Ontario: classroom equipment, selected by the winner and approved by TFO (estimated value $1000.00 CAD) and a gift card (estimated value $150.00 CAD)
b) FL1 Teacher – Canada (outside Ontario): classroom equipment, selected by the winner and approved by TFO (estimated value $1000.00 CAD) and a gift card (estimated value $150.00 CAD)
c) French Immersion Teacher – Canada (Ontario included): classroom equipment, selected by the winner and approved by TFO (estimated value $1000.00 CAD) and a gift card (estimated value $150.00 CAD)
d) Early Childhood Educator – Ontario: classroom equipment, selected by the winner and approved by TFO (estimated value $1000.00 CAD), a gift card (estimated value $150.00 CAD), an iPad (estimated value $600.00 CAD, offered by AFÉSEO) and a one-year membership to AFÉSEO (offered by AFÉSEO)

7.2 The person who submitted a winning entry will receive an IDÉLLO bag full of surprises as well as a one-year membership to IDÉLLO.org. If multiple people submitted Nomination Forms for the same winner, a random draw will be organized among all these people to determine who will receive the IDÉLLO bag and one-year membership.

 

8. When will the Prizes be awarded?

8.1 The Prizes for each category will be awarded by TFO on the following dates:
a) FL1 Teacher – Ontario: at OTIP’s annual ceremony in the fall of 2020 in Toronto
b) Teacher FL1 – Canada (outside Ontario): Fall 2020, location to be determined
c) Immersion Teacher – Canada (Ontario included): Fall 2020, location to be determined
d) Educators – Ontario: on the Day of Educators on October 22nd, 2020 at the winner’s school

 

9. What do the winners have to do?

9.1 Each winner must attend the award ceremony for their category. If the ceremony takes place in a location other than their own school, TFO will cover the costs of travel and accommodation.

9.2 Each winner must agree to sign a release form in order to be filmed for the production of a short video about their profile (the “Video”). The Video will be published on the IDÉLLO Prize website (prixidello.org) and on idello.org, and used for promotional purposes on the web, social media and TFO airwaves.

9.3 Each winner will have to obtain the necessary parental releases of the students for the Video.

9.4 The Video will be filmed in the classroom of the winner, in May or June 2020 depending on the availabilities of the winner and of TFO’s production team.

 

10. Confidentiality

10.1 Personal information collected for the Contest is collected in accordance with TFO’s Privacy and Privacy Policy and is used solely for the purposes of the Contest.
